Of Cellies and things that go bump in the night...

 Associations.
I try to keep the number of people I associate with to a bare minimum - looking at quality, not quantity. Of course, considering my situation, quality is in short supply. I do have a couple good friends or "stickmen" that I know have my back and will stand with me. These friends are priceless in a place that at times is more of a war zone than a controlled environment. I am loyal to a fault and expect the same out of those that I call friend.
Overall inmates are broken into five major gangs:
  •     Bloods.
  •     Cripts.
  •     AB's.
  •     MS13.
  •     Muslims.
I consider the Muslim community a gang as does any other convict. While not recognized officially, they embody all the necessary elements much the same way as the Nation Of Islam - NOI. Once considered a "hate" group, they now fall into a self-titled religious affiliation. Whatever!
But there are many smaller gangs as well:
  •     Skinheads.
  •     Nazis.
  •     GD's.
  •     GOD's.
The list goes on and on. The GOD's were also labeled a "hate" group, but like the NOI have recently assumed religious sovereignty as well. Some of their beliefs are they are the original man, that in their own right they are a god and that the white race is not only less-than, but at the beginning of time were a slave race enslaved by the "original man". The white man rose up against them in rebellion because of the abuses that white women were being subjected to.
Also prevalent in the prison community is Asatru, or Odinism. Recognized as a religion, the group is actually associated with acts of hate and violence than benevolence. The names of those that attend even a single service are labeled "white supremacist" and put on a state and national watch list.
I have friends that attend the Asatru and hate noone, and actually treat all others fairly while conducting themselves with honor.
Personally, I am not affiliated with any gang nor will I be. I cannot wrap my head around giving blind loyalty to others or following orders. I tend to gravitate towards the "white guys", but considering my environment, that is understandable. I come from a small country town and enjoy being around people with common interests/upbringing and united by a love for music. I love music! Rock, Country, Blues and R&B.. I also love to draw and tattoo. Most of the people I associate with or pass time with fall in line with these major interest.

If you are interested in a better understanding of life "inside", please feel free to comment/message me. Most of my daily activity has become second nature but may actually seem intriguing to you.

Thanks for stopping by. Please come again soon...
